Video Assignment

This was my third and final project from COM 170. I interviewed my girl friend from Hilbert as well, I chose her because she is a CJ major and I figured giving people a taste of the CJ major was a great idea. She was perfect for the interview because she is a great student and knows quite a bit about the major already. This was my first recorded interview with a camera and overall I think it went well. I used my loud voice to project it so the viewers could hear the questions while I gave Chelsea the lava deer microphone. I plan to work on my interviewing skills because I really do enjoy it and would like to use it towards my career one day. Thank you for tuning in! ~BM

Audio Assignment

Assignment_2 by barrymason_32
This is my Audio Assignment.  My assignment was an interview with Shawn Pierce a valid member of the DMaC department.  He works in the lab and I just wanted to ask him about his experiences and what it is he does here at Hilbert College.  The podcast was done with a hand held audio recorder inside the DMaC lab.  Shawn was the ideal person to interview because like myself, is only a sophomore and is still in the learning process of everything but he has gained so much knowledge and plays a large role working in the lab by helping others.  I added a little music to the podcast in the beginning and end and overall I think it went pretty well.

Photography Assignment

assignment1_lowISO_ISO
In this assignment we were introduced to photography.  I chose this photo to display because it is unique with the foliage of the trees and the reflections off the pond.  There is basically just so much going on in this photo, last thing I want to point out is the scoreboard.  The scoreboard deep in the middle is at least 300 yards away shown through the walkway of the glass at Hilbert College and it appears not too far in the distance, I found that cool looking.  Before the class I didn't see taking a good picture as a long term thought out process but in fact I was wrong.  To set up and think about what you want to capture can be difficult, you cannot just go out and snap photos and call them good photos.  For this picture I used my own camera a Fuji Film s5800 Fine Pix (basic digital camera).  This class made me realize I had a camera laying around at home and now it is my best friend, I take it everywhere.  I learned quite a bit about photography! ~BM
